Off at the end of this week in Campeonato Paranaense, the Atlético PR was Dallas in the United States and won the Title III of the USA-Brazil Challenge (Challenge Brazil-United States), before the FC Dallas, at Pizza Hut Park in Texas. The game ended 1 to 0 to Dallas, in normal time, and as the first game held in Brazil two weeks ago, the victory was the Hurricane by 4 to 3, the decision of the trophy went to the shootout. Result: Atlético PR, 5 x 4.
The Atlético PR has the right goal at 50 seconds of play when striker Jeff Cunningham took advantage of an oversight of the Atlético PR defense. With several technical changes promoted by Geninho the Atlético PR dominated the second time, created many chances (even had a goal of Lima invalidated when the judge preferred check in and expel the goalkeeper Sala, who placed his hand on the ball outside the area), but the result has not changed.
In the shootout, Gustavo, Jorge Prea, Gabriel, and Julio dos Santos Lima turned to the Atlético PR. Brazilian Andre Rocha wasted a charge that gave way to Hurricane. The game marked the debut of Ferreira (ex-Atlético PRs) in the American team.
In previous disputes, the Atlético PR had won in 2007 (3 x 1 in the Arena, 1 x 0 in Fisco), while in 2008 the cup was for the United States with two wins in Dallas (2 x 0 Curitiba and 2 x 1 in Frisco ).
In the first game of this third edition of the tournament, the Atlético PR used his reserve team, but now, without commitment by Paranaense Championship, Geninho decided to take the team principal for the United States.
"This is a partnership interest to the Atlético PR and the title is important to us. The club is investing in its image abroad and therefore we use the main team because our intention was to leave the title, "said the coach Geninho.
Campeonato Paranaense by the Atlético PR (absolute leader with 27 points, seven points of advantage over the second placed), returns to play on 22, against Paranavaí (13th placed) in Paranavaí.
The Atlético PR played with: Vinicius (Galatto), Rafael Santos, Antonio Carlos (Gustavo) and Rhodolfo, Ze Antonio (Alex Sandro), Chico, Renan (Julio dos Santos), Marcinho (Gabriel) and Netinho (Marcio Azevedo), Julio César (Jorge Prea) and Rafael Moura (Lima).
